Gee Whiz Science Workshops

    I’m currently taking a class on how to use Adobe’s Character Animator program. Is is my first, rough draft animation promoting some workshops I’m doing this summer. Sabo is not really sleeping, but every time I looks down to read from my notes, his eyes close. Lesson learned - memorize ;-)    

    Not only is the St. Clair Art Association in St. Clair, Michigan offering a full five-week session of classes this summer, they are also offering two series of  special workshops; Carolyn’s “Thursday Nite Art” and my “Gee Whiz Science”. We are both so excited about the new offerings. We can hardly wait. 

                                                            Thursday Nite Art

Let Go: Aug. 1,  5 - 7:30 pm  Acrylic pour painting, Experience patterns of color. 14 to adult, limit 8  

Jigsaw: Aug. 8, 5 - 7:30 pm  Design & create your own jigsaw puzzle, 6 to adult , limit 10 

Dancing: Aug. 15,  5 - 7:30 pm  With a brush; instructions for an acrylic landscape, 14 - adult, limit 8                    

Create: Aug. 22, 5 - 7:30 pm, A tie dyed covered journal, 14-adult, limit 8        

Make Bowls: Aug.  29, 5 - 7:30 pm. For our annual Empty Bowls Event. bowls will be sold and the proceeds will be donated to help feed the hungry in our community. All ages, limit 12, FREE

                                                           Gee Whiz Science Saturday

Optimizing Images & Video: Aug. 10 and Aug. 31, 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Bring your smart phone or tablet with photos and videos. Limit 4, 13 and up   

  

 “SPARK” Your Creativity: Aug 3 and Aug 17,  2 -3 pm. Create video slideshows, media posts and mini web sites. Limit 4, 13 and up

Fun with Polymers: Aug 10  and Aug 24, 1 -2 pm. Combine crystals with water to make a bouncy ball. Limit 10

Save Your Skin: Aug 3 and Aug 17,  1 - 2 pm.  String UV beads make a bracelet that changes color in sunlight. Coat one bead with sunscreen — when it gets colored, it is time to re-apply your own sunscreen. Limit 10

Faux Silly Putty: Aug 17 and Aug 24, Sat 11 am - 12 pm & Aug 31, 1 - 2 pm. Combine starch and glue to make a polymer compound that acts like both a liquid and solid. Limit 10
